Honor is still confused by many buyers with Huawei, a Chinese IT company. Actually, it was the case up until 2012. Honor became its own sub-brand under Huawei in 2013. However, we continued to see Huawei phone models with the brand “Honor” long after that. In 2015, Huawei sold the Honor Holly model in Bangladesh.
In November 2020, Honor separated from Huawei and established its own brand. Huawei sold the company to the Shenzhen municipal government’s Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd. That is to say, a Chinese state-owned corporation now owns Honor. Computers, tablets, wearable technology (smartwatches, smartbands, etc.), and smartphones are the main products of the brand.
Honor Smartphone Retrospective
In 2013, Huawei mainly targeted lower-budget smartphone consumers in China with the establishment of the Honor brand. The brand’s reach eventually extended to the United States, Europe, and a plethora of Asian countries. Honor became a top brand for those on a tighter budget very quickly. However, they also began to make a substantial profit from their flagship devices.
Integrity in Bangladesh
With the launch of four new smartphone models in May 2019, Honor formally joined the Bangladeshi market. The Honor 8A, Honor 8X, Honor 10 Lite, and Honor 7S were among them. The Basundhara City Shopping Complex in Dhaka was the site of their inaugural brand store. However, smartphones were discontinued from sale in Bangladesh in 2021. Considering that Google is essentially an American company and the fact that it took Honor some time to reorganize and restructure their business model after becoming independent from Huawei, one possible explanation is that the US ban on Huawei meant that their phones couldn’t access the Google Play Store.
Fortunately, Honor made a triumphant return in late 2023 with the Honor X7a, X8a, and X9a, three official smartphones. Along with these phones, you may also get the Honor Pad 8 Tab. A number of services, like the Google Play Store, are now available to them. You can also find unauthorized devices made by them at a number of the best-known shops in Bangladesh.
